Hair treatment for hair loss
Here we discuss about homemade hair treatment for hairloss. If you suffer from hair loss, definitely you require a hair treatment. In the market there are so many types of hair treatment products available. But here we focus on homemade hair treatment.

Hair treatment using Reetha (Areetha), Shikakai and Amla. All these ingredients are herbs. In India it is very common. I would like to tell you some thing about these ingredients of our hair treatment.
Reetha otherwise is called soap nut. Soap nuts contain saponin, a natural detergent which is used to clean clothes. It is used to make herbal shampoo. Here we can add this in our hair treatment.

Soap nuts have become popular as an environmentally friendly alternative to manufactured, chemical detergents . A few nuts can be placed in a cotton drawstring bag in with a wash load and reused several times. Soap nuts are safe for washing silk, woolens and other delicate fabrics.

Shikakai means "fruit for hair" and is a traditional shampoo used in India.

It is made from Acacia concinna, a shrub native to the warm, plains of central and south India. Acacia concinna has been used as hair treatment in India for centuries, it is now grown commercially in India and Far East Asia. The plant parts used for the dry powdered or the extract are the bark, leaves or pods. So it is also very good for hair treatments.

Amla or Indian gooseberry (Phyllanthus emblica, syn. Emblica officinalis) is a deciduous tree

of the Euphorbiaceae family. It is known for its edible fruit of the same name. It is used in Ayurvedic medicines. Locally the crush of this fruit is used in hair treatment in India. Whatever hair treatment we make out of this Gooseberry is very effective in controlling hairloss and helping hair growth.

How to make Hair Treatment
Mix Reetha 2 tbsp, Shikakai 2 tbsp and Amla 2 tbsp. Add an egg and make it a paste. Wash your hair first. Apply this paste on scalp and hair. Let your fingers pass through out your hair that will make the paste mix well in your entire hair. Leave it for 20 min. Then rinse hair well. if you want use mild shampoo. Repeat it two three times a week for a month. Some may not like the smell of egg, so use coconut or olive oil instead of egg to prepare this hair treatment. I hope you enjoy these hair treatment.

Hair oil with Coconut Milk

Recipe for Hair oil with Coconut Milk

Today I am giving you a very special hair oil recipe. It was widely used to help hair growth in Kerala. This hair oil with coconut milk is having a very tactical kind of preparation. In early times this was prepared by specially trained persons who make all kind of Ayurvedic preparations. In my home grand mother used to prepare hair oil with coconut milk and it was the oil we applied on hair. At that time my hair was also lustrous and healthy. Now as the time passing very fast even I cannot find a situation to prepare this hair oil with coconut milk.

The first challenge in preparing this hair oil is finding the best type of coconut. The coconut we select should be fully ripe and dried. In this condition the water content in the coconut will be almost removed. And we can get more oil from that. Why we select the ripe coconut is that we can keep this prepared hair oil for long time. This hair oil with coconut milk helps hair to grow well and can avoid unnecessary hair loss. Definitely we can forget about the problem of dandruff etc.

How to prepare hair oil with coconut milk

ingredients:
Coconut oil- 1 cup
Coconut milk- 1 cup
Brahmi powder- 5tsp.
Aloe vera- 2tsp.
Tulsi leaf paste- 1tsp.

You know how to prepare coconut milk. Grate coconut and using a mixer/grinder crush it. Then squeeze the milk. Brahmi powder you can buy. Use fresh aloe vera. Squeeze the inner crux or you can use with the skin but cut into small pieces. If you have tulsi leaves make it a paste or buy tulsi powder.

Mix brahmi powder, aloe vera and tulsi paste. Add coconut milk and mix well. Now add coconut oil and mix together. Start to heat it in low flame. Stir with a long spoon. When the fumes starts to come add few grains of rice or fenugreek or corn and see it pops up. This is the proper time to switch off the flame. Take care to not getting the contents too dark or do not allow to burn. When it cools down sieve it and pour into a suitable glass bottle or ceramic container.

You can apply this hair oil with coconut milk once in a week basis. First loosen your hair, take out all the knots with fingers moving from top to ends. Spread well all the strands. Apply the hair oil all over hair and scalp. Give a thorough massage. Special attention for doing rubbing on scalp in a rounded motion. Do not scratch with finger nails. No need to apply excess oil, keep an average quantity to apply. Wait for half an hour. Then take bath. If you want wash out excess oil by washing hair with green gram flour.

If you are applying oil for the first time, apply this hair oil with coconut milk very little at the first time. Then repeat it after three days. Similarly do it three times minimum. Then only your hair and scalp will become used to the new product. First time application may cause a temporary hair loss. Don't worry, continue applying.

(Note:The professional way of making this hair oil is a little different. In that no need to use coconut oil. By heating the coconut milk it will produce coconut oil from that. For that we require more coconut milk. This I am telling is for an information purpose.)

Homemade Hair oils

Homemade recipes for hair oils.

In this section I would like to talk about hair oils. You all know that oiling is very good for hair.We can use any oils according to our choice. But just know all the cooking oils cannot be used on hair. If we used to a particular oil for hair and if we change to another oil, our hair and scalp will not accept the new oil immediately. But if we apply that oil for few times it becomes suitable. My personal opinion is stick to one suitable oil because changing oils may cause temporary hair loss etc.

There are so many ways we can prepare homemade hair oils to use in our hair. All the different recipes for hair oils are for making the oil suitable to apply on hair. Moreover it can help the total health of hair and hair growth.

The first thing is to select or find out a suitable oil to prepare homemade hair oil. I know coconut oil is very simple. Definitely I can recommend to others. It is very simple and light oil. But some may not like the natural smell of virgin coconut oil. For them I recommend purified coconut oil. In Europe and U.S people use olive oil. Ground nut oil, castor oil, gingelly oil or even sun flower oil also have been used in many places. But for people with oily skin and hair they don't bother about applying oils and it is OK.

The second step is to make the oil hot. You can apply oils without heating. But hot oil is better. Because by heating we can avoid certain difficulties by putting oil directly. If the oil is a little old and by heating the oil we can make the oil perfect for applying on hair.

How long we have to heat oil? Not to boil, only heat it. In Kerala and other states of India there is a method following to heat the oil. Heat the oil in low flame, then the fumes start to come watch it and add few grains of paddy or corn. When the grains pop up switch off the flame. That is the heating level. Do not allow the grains to burn darker.

And there are lots of local plant leafs added to the oil. But that plants are not available now. Today I am giving you a homemade hair oil recipe with curry leaves. Curry leaves are known to treat dandruff and it can reduce hair loss. That way it can help hair growth.

Coconut oil+ curry leaves recipe
Here we see how to use curry leaves to prepare homemade hair oil. The way I explains here you can prepare the oil and keep it for a long term use, say two or three weeks. No need to keep in refrigerator.

A simple method to prepare hair oil is as I said above heat the oil and add few curry leaves onto it. Before getting the curry leaves too dark switch off the flame. This is the simplest method for lazy ladies. But there is another method to prepare hair oil and it will give more positive results to hair.

First of all take one or two bunches of curry leaf. Remove the leaves one by one. Clean it with water and let it air dry. Make sure there is no water content on the leaves. Grind the leaves into paste. Let it be two tea spoon of curry leaf paste. Then pour half cup of oil, preferably coconut oil into a boiling pan or pot. Start to heat the oil in a low flame. After two min. add the curry leaf paste into the oil. After some time when the oil gets heated we could see fumes coming from the oil. Watch when the green color of the paste starts to become dark just switch off the flame. Allow the oil to cool. Then sieve the oil and pour it into a glass bottle. Homemade hair oil is ready.

When you want to use the oil just take enough oil into a heating pan and heat it. Just heat it minimum enough to apply on hair. Do not apply oil if it is too hot. Apply through out your hair from top to end. Massage the scalp and hair well. Wait for 10-15 min. and take bath.

This is the local very old form of homemade hair oil recipe. You can definitely rely on it. And do not forget the fact that when you starts to follow a new method your hair and scalp may reject it. But do not worry. If repeatedly apply the oil it will become suitable for you.

Hair care-discussion2

Hair care - part II.

Is conditioning important? Hair is a marvelous natural fiber, we wash it, apply heat and chemical and generally abuse it. Imagine doing all these to the most expensive outfit and pulling it thorough the most vigorous treatment everyday- years in and years out , of course, you would not do so. Why your hair does not deserve the same delicate care to that expensive dress of yours ? Well it does, that is why correct shampooing and conditioning are important. After all you replace a dress but hair cannot be bought.

Anyone would get confused with the varieties of shampoo and conditioner are available now in this market- which one to choose? So best is to go to a proper beauty parlour and ask your hair dresser who may stock a special range of products which is sold in the salon and you will be given an advise on what to use, when and how to use or else get into a shop and pick it up from shelf but preferably a known brand.

Shampoo. A modern shampoo is a good cleanser designed to remove every day dirt and grease with out stripping the hair off its precious natural moisture content. Choose mild shampoo that suit your hair. Shampoo mixed with one part of water should be used . Greasy hair should be kept clean otherwise it looks flat soon and looses its bounce. Greasy hair also tends to attract dirt. Whether your hair is normal, dry or oily, keep it clean, shampoo it at least twice a week. A dirty greasy scalp is perfect ground for bacteria, it increases the risk of infection as well as making your hair smell extremely unpleasant.

Choosing the right shampoo is a matter of trial, it is very good to change shampoo often. Always buy a small bottle if you do not like it you have not wasted much money. Colour, perfume and shampoo bottle have nothing to do with the quality of the product inside.

Egg shampoo this is good for falling hair , for oily dirty hair and even for a dirty face. Separate the yolks of 2 to 3 eggs from the whites, add a tsp of the white not very stiff then combine the white and yolks, rinse the hair lightly, massage the egg shampoo into the scalp with your finger tips. Leave for 5 to 10 min rinse with luke warm water and redo with any other shampoo. This is the best home made shampoo for hair and face.
